Greetings,
I stumbled onto this site while looking for a job at the post office in Berea, Kentucky and stumbled on the story of the mass grave site there. Then on I was all about the Unusual and Weird in Kentucky. The same day that I heard about the Weird Kentucky book I dashed on down to the bookstore and I picked it right on up. In fact they had an entire stand that was for the weird books themselves. With every page turn, I have become more and more intrigued with my big back yard of Kentucky, and I just want to learn more. I used to think that Kentucky was a boring place just because I never saw anything on the news about it, and people never really talked about it out of the state unless it was Derby time. The paranormal has always interested me. Listening to first had experiences and learning more of the History of the people. Thats not typically found in the run of the mill History book.
All in all i am glad to have found some sort of Medium to portray my thoughts and experiences in this Bluegrass state...I always knew there was more than meets the eye...
I would like to just say that I would love to meet Mr Jeffrey Scott Holland, and perhaps even have him sign my copy of Weird Kentucky....That being said I would love to have a sit down and a cup of joe with anyone that is interested in talking about the book and other strange occurrences that are not in the book itself
Cheers

I am not a Kentucky native, but I have come to love Kentucky's sense of mystery, uniqueness, and intrigue. I too have always been interested in tales of the weird from all over, but especially concerning places that I can visit. I rushed out to buy Weird Illinois when it first came out as that is my home state, and was greatly disappointed to find that Kentucky did not have its own book in the series at the time. I was so excited to find that the unusual Kentucky site has returned to its former glory as I liked visiting the old site, but the info rarely changed. I cannot wait to get the Weird Kentucky book as well and discover even more unusual places in this wonderful state. My favorite thing about Kentucky is that it is the only place I know where you can find a mansion right next door to a run down trailer park. You never know what you are going to see as you travel around this state! Nice to Meet you Scott!
